Creating Natural Harmony with Modern Super-Composites

Dr. Clarence Tam
Author : Dr. Clarence Tam

The difference between Biomimetic/Natural and conventional dentistry is that biomimetic attempts to duplicate the missing tooth structure with restorative materials that match their natural physical properties. A key aspect of this is to dramatically reduce stress on the adhesive materials so they can provide long-term use and durability for direct and indirect restorations. If clinical techniques have high-stress then the bonds will be low, conversely, if the clinical techniques have low-stress then the bonds will be high and more likely to succeed. This CE webinar will discuss and illustrate low-stress, high-bond techniques for direct composites as well as techniques on blending and highlighting your restorations. Key clinical tips will be shown to increase the esthetics of direct composites. During this CE webinar, the attendee will learn - What materials are best to replace enamel and dentin substrates - What materials are best used to replace large volumes of missing tooth structure - Posterior composite layering techniques and the placement of tints to accentuate anatomy to create greater realism - The limits of various techniques in treating hypo-mineralization and will review a staged protocol for clinical success - How modern cloud-shaded super-composite materials can help to minimize armamentaria while facilitating ease of efficiency in anterior restorations

Porcelain Restorations and Adhesion to Improve Aesthetics, Function, and Unique Clinical Problems

Aguilera-headshot
Author : Dr. Nicolas Aguilera

Porcelain restorations remain one of the most predictable materials in aesthetics and restorative dentistry. Their success, however, depends entirely on correct case selection, precise clinical execution, and a consistent, evidence-based bonding protocol. This CE webinar will review the fundamental principles of adhesion, contemporary ceramic systems and step-by-step protocols to manage common and complex clinical challenges. Participants will learn how to optimize aesthetics and function with a facial driven approach and mastering the temporaries technique so the master ceramist can replicate it in porcelain restorations. By the end of the webinar, clinicians will have a clear and reproducible workflow for planning, preparing, bonding, and maintaining porcelain restorations with confidence. During this webinar, we will - Execute a consistent, evidence-based bonding protocol for porcelain restorations to ensure predictable strength and long-term performance - Integrate a facially driven approach to diagnosis and treatment planning, aligning restorations with facial proportions, smile dynamics, and function - Master provisional techniques to use temporaries as a diagnostic blueprint for aesthetics, function, and patient approval before final ceramics

Managing Porcelain Veneer Replacements... When You Inherit Aggressively Prepared Teeth

Richard A. Young headshot
Author : Dr. Richard A. Young, DDS

Replacing porcelain veneers isn’t always simple. When removal of veneers exposes aggressively prepped teeth, careful treatment planning and communication are essential. This course uses a case study to present each step of the process, with practical tips for assessing corrective tooth preparation, effective lab collaboration, and rationale for material selection. Presented are useful insights to clarify and align expectations between patient, dentist, and ceramist to achieve predictable, esthetic results. Included are clinical protocols and a workflow outline to address the unique clinical challenges that arise when replacing porcelain veneers on already aggressively prepared teeth.

Ceramic and Cementation Choices to Optimize Function and Esthetics

Amir H. Nejat headshot
Author : Dr. Amir Nejat

Dental materials have evolved alongside CAD/CAM technology at a relatively rapid pace. Understanding the fundamental nature and behavior of dental ceramics and cements is an integral part of the decision-making process in restorative dentistry. The correct selection of materials and understanding the limitations of each dental material will help improve clinical success. This CE webinar provides a comprehensive classification of indirect restorative materials and their clinical applications, with the goal of equipping clinicians with the necessary knowledge to evaluate and correctly apply emerging materials. Upon completion of this CE webinar, the participant will • Understand the current trends in the field of dental ceramics • Understand the clinical applications of different dental ceramics • Understand the new generation of dental cement
