Two new Kuraray Noritake Dental restorative materials, CLEARFIL Universal Bond Quick 2 and CLEARFIL MAJESTY ES Flow Universal, work together seamlessly to deliver high-quality, esthetic restorations
Within the densely populated world of dental composites, there is a hierarchy that distinguishes the prototypical restorative materials from those that truly reign supreme. Among this esteemed lineage stands Kuraray Noritake Dental’s CLEARFIL MAJESTY family of composites, revered for its simplicity, durability, and overall reliability in achieving esthetic restorative outcomes. The newest member of this royal family, CLEARFIL MAJESTY ES Flow Universal, is a high-viscosity flowable composite that promises to continue the legacy of restorative success. The material sets itself apart from the rest by delivering exceptional handling, ideal polishability, and excellent wear resistance—all with fewer shades.
Simplified Shade Matching, Enhanced Esthetics
CLEARFIL MAJESTY ES Flow Universal integrates smoothly and easily into surrounding tooth structure in both posterior and anterior areas, seamlessly adapting to the translucency of enamel and the chroma of dentin. Thanks to its unique LIGHTDIFFUSION filler matrix, just 1 universal shade covers 16 VITA shades. Proprietary Light Diffusion Technology (LDT) allows CLEARFIL MAJESTY ES Flow Universal to diffuse light in a similar way to patients’ natural teeth, while ensuring simple polishing with a long-lasting gloss finish. Particularly helpful for anterior restorations, CLEARFIL MAJESTY ES Flow Universal is available in a universal dark shade to esthetically shade match darker hues, too. Additionally, the composite’s high viscosity makes it suitable for building up molar cusps and ridges, which helps retain tooth the patient’s natural shape, while its physical properties and flexural strength are equivalent to those of conventional composite resins.
Establishing a Rapid, Reliable Bond
Building on the success of CLEARFIL Universal Bond Quick, Kuraray Noritake Dental recently launched CLEARFIL Universal Bond Quick 2, which incorporates new and proprietary Urethane Tetramethacrylate (UTM) technology for the next generation of single-bottle adhesive dentistry. The bonding agent also employs the original MDP adhesive monomer and the Amide monomer, which starts out hydrophilic and becomes hydrophobic and water-resistant after polymerization. “I really like the handling of the CLEARFIL Universal Bond Quick 2 and how it applies and wets the tooth,” said Dr. Richard Young, who maintains a private practice in San Bernardino, CA, focusing on esthetic dentistry. “It’s perfect for my injection molded restorations.” With a quick and easy application, CLEARFIL Universal Bond Quick 2 requires no waiting time to bond to dentin because of its Advanced Rapid Bond Technology. “It applies better and spreads evenly, and the improved application is easier to manage,” Dr. Young noted. The bonding agent can be used in all etching modes, and without the need for separate activators.
