The latest adhesive from Kuraray Noritake Dental features new chemistry for streamlined restorative procedures with strong, uniform bond layers and zero waiting time.
Dr. Michelle Na has long sought a bonding agent to expedite the dental bonding process, pointing out that “many bonding agents in the market require you to scrub it for 10 to 20 seconds.” Though only a few extra seconds, this time adds up across many procedures and can noticeably impact overall workflow efficiency.
During the DPS product review of Kuraray Noritake Dental’s latest adhesive, CLEARFIL Universal Bond Quick 2, Dr. Na found her solution. Featuring Advanced Rapid Bond Technology and MDP, AMIDE, and new UTM monomers, it creates a strong, uniform bond layer with no waiting time—consistently delivering reliable bonds with a single bottle.
“CLEARFIL Universal Bond Quick 2 has no waiting time after application and makes the whole bonding process fast and simple,” Dr. Na noted.
On a similar pursuit of “faster and stronger bonding,” Dr. Tom Rowe shared a positive experience with CLEARFIL Universal Bond Quick 2. “I like the speed with which you can get a predictable and strong bond,” he said. “Being able to achieve a strong bond while not needing to scrub the bonding agent for 20 seconds saves critical time in hard-to-isolate cases, or with high-anxiety dental patients where time is of the essence.”
Quick, Easy, and Even Application
CLEARFIL Universal Bond Quick 2 enables a quick, easy, and even application that effectively prevents adhesive pooling and exhibits high bond strength in self-, selective-, or total-etching procedures.
“Product application is easy,” assured Dr. Bennie Clark. “It has great bond strength and virtually no postop sensitivity.”
Dr. Tiffany Brady liked the adhesive’s “thin, easy application,” finding it allowed for “quicker restorations,” and Dr. James DeFilippo appreciated “the minimal number of steps and universal applications.” With that, Dr. Ira Newman said, “It streamlines product inventory with 1 bottle, and its quick application requires less time for bonding procedures.”
“It allowed us to have great adhesion without a large layer,” Dr. Sheri Audu said, and Dr. Nick Feola added, “It doesn’t pool up when air drying.” Dr. Steven Edelson lauded CLEARFIL Universal Bond Quick 2’s “excellent dispensing system,” which helped ensure “no wasted material,” but Dr. Douglas O’Connor felt it was “easy to dispense too much.”
Lower Film Thickness
The adhesive also features a lower film thickness, allowing it to flow and disperse easily during application. Dr. Anthony Pan especially liked its “ease of use and viscosity,” and Dr. Feola said, “I enjoy the ease of handling. It’s thin and stays in place.”
Looking for a bonding agent with “universal indications that is reliable in all applications,” Dr. Frederick Bonds discovered, “It has marvelous physical properties, such as its film thickness. The mixed material flows nicely throughout the crown, onlay, and veneer. Prosthetics seated well, and the material cured as expected and cleaned up easily.”
“It is easy to use and flows well into the preparations,” Dr. Todd Ryan said. “It seems to be a very good bonding agent.” Dr. Audu added, “It helped provide a bond that flows properly, and as smoothly and quickly as needed,” and Dr. Janice Darko said, “It was amazing, and it looks like the results will last a long time, too.”
Final Restorative Results
Before evaluating CLEARFIL Universal Bond Quick 2, Dr. Pan wanted “strong bonding especially for Class V restorations.” After his trial period, he said, “This product gave a very strong bond and I didn’t have any issues with restorations failing.”
Dr. Audu reported “minimal to no sensitivity with Class II restorations,” Dr. Edelson found the adhesive helpful for “cementation of titanium posts,” and Dr. Clark said it assisted with “crown buildups, applying Invisalign attachments, and composite restorations.”
“I used it to bond composite to a tooth and partially broken veneer,” Dr. Feola said. “It’s holding up very well, and the patient is pleased with the esthetics. So far, I’ve had no complaints of postop sensitivity.” Dr. Newman loved its “ease of use and lack of sensitivity post-procedure,” and Dr. Yongho Kevin Kang affirmed, “I can see postop sensitivity will be a thing of the past.”
Overall Satisfaction
“CLEARFIL Universal Bond Quick 2 is a better product than what I was using,” Dr. O’Connor remarked. “It has better bond strength with less failures.”
Dr. DeFilippo shared, “It’s a really good product,” and Dr. Clark noted, “It performed at a high level in all areas of expectations.”
“I was very satisfied with the results,” Dr. Darko noted. “I would recommend it because of all the benefits it has over other bonding materials.” Dr. Feola summed up his experience with the adhesive by saying, “I enjoyed using it and will likely purchase it in the future.”
Ultimately emphasizing CLEARFIL Universal Bond Quick 2’s “ease of use and Kuraray Noritake Dental quality,” Dr. Newman concluded, “Using a proven winner from a high-quality manufacturer is an easy choice.”
