Kuraray Noritake Dental offers clinicians reliable bonding agents and composites for natural-looking, long-lasting dental restorations
When it comes to dental restorations, the most favorable outcomes are those that closely resemble the tooth’s natural form and function while preserving as much healthy tooth structure as possible.
“I find it easy to incorporate Kuraray Noritake Dental restorative products while following biomimetic principles,” said Dr. Hana Rashid. “Whether a treatment involves a traditional composite filling, an onlay, or even a crown, I don’t have to change much of what I do across different restorative procedures. There is seamless integration with these materials.”
CLEARFIL Bonding Agents
“When a tooth is ready to restore with composite or ceramic, I air abrade it and then use CLEARFIL SE PROTECT for immediate dentin sealing,” Dr. Rashid said. “This adhesive provides the dentin-composite bond with the strongest link possible to reduce the likelihood of bond failure and contamination from the tubules being open to the oral environment.”
Dr. Rashid has found similar success with CLEARFIL Universal Bond Quick—a single-bottle, fluoride-releasing, universal adhesive offering a unique RAPID BOND TECHNOLOGY when used with any etching technique or curing mode. “It is easy to use for all procedures,” she said. “I still use enamel etch for the best bond possible, but there is no sensitivity, leakage, or shade changes after the restoration is done.”
CLEARFIL MAJESTY Composites
“After bonding, I use CLEARFIL MAJESTY Flow for resin coating in 0.5-mm increments to allow for decoupling over time—at least 5 minutes—to give the resin maximum strength and reduce stress fracture and contamination from the tubules,” Dr. Rashid said. CLEARFIL MAJESTY Flow is a light-cure, radiopaque composite resin with filler particles that are treated with Kuraray’s new surface coating technology. She continued, “Once this is complete, I build the tooth up by layering CLEARFIL AP-X up to the DEJ, and then I continue with CLEARFIL MAJESTY ES-2 for enamel replacement.”
CLEARFIL AP-X is a light-cure, radiopaque restorative resin that provides accurate color matching, high polishability, and excellent physical properties. “I use CLEARFIL AP-X as a warmed cement for my onlays, in addition to layering for deep restorations that require a strong dentin interface with composite that minimizes stress fractures,” Dr. Rashid explained. A light-cure, radiopaque composite resin containing a nanofilled composite filler and high refractive matrix, CLEARFIL MAJESTY ES-2 exhibits a light-diffusion property similar to natural tooth structure with 16 VITA shades available for most restorative situations. “I use CLEARFIL MAJESTY ES-2 for everyday fillings because it has multiple shades to choose from. It also has smooth handling and polishes well,” Dr. Rashid concluded.
