Often times, there is uncertainty when to incorporate a bonding agent when using self-adhesive cement. PANAVIA™ SA Cement Universal is designed to be used with all materials, without using a separate bonding agent. PANAVIA SA Universal is a self adhering cement and no separate primer or bonding agent required on the tooth structure. When the clinical tooth preps are very short, or retention is questionable, PANAVIA™ SA Cement Universal can be use with CLEARFIL™ Universal Bond Quick with enhanced adhesion.
A unique silane coupling agent has been incorporated into the paste called LCSi. This long carbon chain monomer provides a strong chemical bond to porcelain, lithium disilicate and composite resin.
There is no separate pretreatment required to the internal surface of the restoration other than sandblasting (for zirconia and metal) and HF (hydrofluoric acid) for lithium disilicate and ceramics. KATANA™ Cleaner is always recommended on the intaglio surface to remove the saliva phosphates after the try-in.
So, is a bonding agent really needed? When the clinical tooth preps are very short, or retention is questionable, CLEARFIL™ Universal Bond Quick can be applied to the tooth structure. The bond does not require light-curing There is virtually no waiting time. When the bond comes into contact with the cement, a “Touch-Cure Chemistry” will occur, and the bond will activate with the PANAVIA™ SA Cement Universal. This is proprietary chemistry which occurs with only this combination of products.
For everyday cementation needs, you can feel confident in using PANAVIA™ SA Cement Universal by itself. For those special cases where a little bit more retention is needed, add CLEARFIL™ Universal Bond Quick to the equation. Either way, you can rest assured of an outstanding result.
