"Esthetic Colorant" from Kuraray Noritake!
Kuraray Noritake's NEW Esthetic Colorant specially developed for "KATANA™ Zirconia" Multi-Layered series to perfectly complement the effects obtained from the materials' multi-layered color structure with maintaining the original strength of zirconia. Available in 12-shade, simply apply to the restoration after milling using a metal-free brush or a dedicated Liquid Brush Pen developed for easy control of characteristics. Esthetic Colorant diffuses into the pre-sintered structure and is fixed during sintering with no additional baking, resulting in lifelike shade effects shining from within the restoration.

What is Esthetic Colorant?
Esthetic Colorant is used for coloring and characterising pre-sintered zirconia structures. This product is especially designed for the “KATANA™ Zirconia” multi-layered series such as UTML or STML. It has been developed so that colors appear correctly when sintered at this series’ baking temperature. As this product is designed for pre-colored zirconia, the line-up does not include body colors. The liquid colors are also more moderate compared to similar products from other manufacturers.
Can I apply Esthetic Colorant on Lithium Disilicate materials?
No, Esthetic Colorant is a dental colouring liquid for “KATANA™ Zirconia”. This product is designed in order to reproduce high aesthetics when using with “KATANA™ Zirconia” multi-layered series, but you can use this product on mono-colored “KATANA™ Zirconia” as well.
Can I apply Esthetic Colorant on “KATANA™ Zirconia” HT or LT?
Yes, you can apply Esthetic Colorant on “KATANA™ Zirconia” HT or LT. Please note that “KATANA™ Zirconia” HT or LT is designed to use in combination with porcelain layers. After applying Esthetic Colorant and sintering, use dental porcelains for finalization. For detailed instruction for building up the porcelain or selecting a target shade, refer to the Instructions for Use supplied with products such as “CERABIEN™ ZR”.
Will applying Esthetic Colorant weaken the zirconia?
The ratio of a composition that can weaken zirconia strength included in Esthetic Colorant is low, which reduces the risk of weakening zirconia strength.
Does Esthetic Colorant have fluorescent properties?
Esthetic Colorant does not have fluorescent properties except for Pink which is the only shade with fluorescence. When using this shade for the gingival area, cover with porcelains which do not have fluorescence, such as “CERABIEN™ ZR” Tissue shades. For the tooth area, you can increase the florescence of the restoration by finishing with porcelains that have fluorescence such as “CERABIEN™ ZR” FC Paste Stain Clear Glaze etc.
